Beach cats
Small catamarans on a trailer are simple pickups. Hulls, trampoline, and sails all matter for value.
Cruising catamarans
Wide beam often means transport by water or with special permits. We plan it with you.
Beach cats
Beach catamarans such as Hobies travel on a small trailer and are easy pickups. Hulls, the trampoline, the mast and rigging, and the sails all matter. A cracked hull or a missing mast changes the answer; a torn trampoline does not.
Cruising catamarans
Cruising cats are wide, often 14 to 25 feet across, which usually rules out ordinary road transport. They typically move by water with a captain, or by specialized hauler with permits. We plan the move with you.
Power catamarans
Power cats with twin outboards are popular fishing boats. They follow our fishing boat and motorboat process, with both engines reviewed separately.
Makes we see often
Hobie, Nacra, Prindle, Lagoon, Leopard, Fountaine Pajot, Gemini, PDQ, Catalina, Seawind, Bali, Manta, and many more, including power catamarans such as World Cat, Glacier Bay, and Twin Vee.
Not on the list? It is here to help you find your boat, not to limit what we take. We accept every make and model, listed or not, including rare builders and companies that closed decades ago. A donation depends on the boat's condition and paperwork, never the name on the hull, so enter yours on the form even if you do not see it here.
Questions
Can a wide catamaran be trucked?
Sometimes, with oversize permits. Often moving by water is simpler.
Do power catamarans count?
Yes. See our yacht page for larger power cats.
My trampoline is torn. Does that matter?
Not much. It is a common replacement item.
My cruising catamaran is overseas. Can you take it?
Possibly. We review boats outside the U.S. case by case, based on the boat, where it is, and how it can be moved. Send us the details and we will tell you what we can do.
Can the mast stay up on a beach cat?
The transporter will usually lower it for travel. Tell us if it is already down.
