Donate a boat in Nevada

Nevada boating is split between the south, Lake Mead and Lake Mohave near Las Vegas, and the north, Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake near Reno. Houseboats, wake boats, and PWCs are common, and desert storage lots are full of boats waiting for the next trip.

Titles and registration
The Nevada Department of Wildlife titles and registers boats.
Aquatic invasive species
Nevada has AIS decal and inspection requirements for launching.
Trailers
Trailers are registered through the Nevada DMV.
Lost title or registration
The owner on record can usually get a duplicate from Nevada Department of Wildlife. If the boat was never retitled after a sale, or the owner has passed away, tell us and we will point you to the right forms.
Coast Guard documented vessels
Documented boats transfer through the National Vessel Documentation Center with a bill of sale, not a Nevada title. Some documented boats are also registered with the state for use here.

Nevada boat donation questions

Can you take a houseboat on Lake Mead?

Often sold at the marina. Call us.

Where do I replace a Nevada boat title?

Through the Nevada Department of Wildlife. We can walk you through the duplicate title request.

Is desert heat damage a problem?

Heat is hard on vinyl, canvas, and trailer tires, but hulls and engines are often fine. Send a few photos and we will tell you honestly.

When is the best time of year to donate a boat in Nevada?

Fall or spring. Summer heat in southern Nevada makes pickups harder. That said, you can donate any time of year.
