Donate a boat in Kansas

Kansas boating happens on federal reservoirs: Milford, Tuttle Creek, Perry, Clinton, Cheney, and El Dorado. Pontoons, bass boats, and fishing boats are the norm, and most spend the off-season in a garage or storage unit.

Kansas rules for a boat donation

TITLING AND REGISTRATION AGENCY
Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks
Visit the agency site
Registration
The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks registers boats. Whether a title is involved depends on the boat; we confirm with you.
Trailers
Trailers are registered through county treasurers.
Wind and water
Reservoirs can close ramps in low water, which sometimes affects pickups.
Lost title or registration
The owner on record can usually get a duplicate from Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. If the boat was never retitled after a sale, or the owner has passed away, tell us and we will point you to the right forms.
Coast Guard documented vessels
Documented boats transfer through the National Vessel Documentation Center with a bill of sale, not a Kansas title. Some documented boats are also registered with the state for use here.
